30/12/12: After Sir Alex denied the speculation
regarding Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski, the Sunday People
forwards Athletic Club hitman Fernando Llorente as an
alternative target. The Spain international is out of favour after
refusing to sign a new contract but the boss does not think he'll leave
Bilbao until the summer due to their poor league form.
30/12/12: The Sun reckons David De Gea is a £22million target for Real Madrid as the club eye a replacement for Iker Casillas. The same newspaper suggests Wesley Sneijder has alerted United and Spurs to his availability this month.
30/12/12: Sir Alex has insisted Nani is not for sale. "Why would I sell Nani?" he asked in the Sunday Mirror. The winger has had a break in Dubai and is pencilled in to return from a hamstring injury in the middle of January.
29/12/12: Also in the Daily Mail, Leighton Baines is apparently a target for the Reds and PSG once the window opens in a few days. This despite the manager telling United Review that he planned no major acquisitions next month.
29/12/12: The Daily Mail claims Arsenal are considering a move for £20million-rated Nani and will use the sale of Robin van Persie to Old Trafford as leverage to broker a deal.
28/12/12: Highly-rated Montpellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa has revealed his wish is to play for United. The alleged Arsenal target was asked for his hopes for 2013 by France Football
and said: "My dream is to slide on my knees to the corner of the
pitch at Old Trafford with a Manchester United shirt on my back. I play
for MU, my favourite club and I'm scoring a decisive goal with a header
from a corner. Yes, that'd be fine."
28/12/12: Rayo Vallecano are considering trying to land Federico Macheda on loan, according to Vavel. However, the report adds that the cost of any temporary transfer could put the blocks on any deal.
28/12/12: The Daily Mail pick up on the line from Spain that Cristiano Ronaldo
is refusing to sign a new contract and take it one step further by
claiming the Portugal international "could be targeted for a dramatic
return to Manchester United". Ronaldo still has two years left on his
present deal.
28/12/12: Angelo Henriquez has spoken to La Tercera
and confirmed he looks set to join Wigan on loan next month. The
striker was wanted by Chile for an Under-20 tournament but stated: "The
club is not giving me the permission to go to South America. I have the
best intention to participate for Chile as I would never say no to the
international team but it's not my decision. Here, they want me to go to
Wigan so I keep playing in the Premier League."
27/12/12: Reds winger Bebe
looks set to complete a loan move to Portuguese side Rio Ave FC,
currently fifth in the Portuguese Liga. The deal is yet to be confirmed
by United but Rio Ave's official website has already pictured him in his new shirt.
26/12/12: Following an initial story in Bild, the English press fan the flames of speculation linking Robert Lewandowski
with a summer switch to Old Trafford. The talk is all about an
£18million transfer with a five-year contract awaiting the Poland
striker next summer.
